1965/66 Obtained PMG Class 2 and BOT Radar Maintenance Cert at Bristol Technical College ,then Called Ashley Down School of Marine Radio & Radar, later called Brunel College. Employed directly by B.P. Tankers 1966-1970. Did 6 trips on British Statesman GXNV (second R/O then first R/O same ship after Senior R/O left after 4 months), British Fern GMUN, British Beacon GCHB, British Trader (No record of callsign) , British Cormorant GHLH, British Queen GDGE. Swallowed the anchor after only 4 years and went into the Security Industry for 18 years then Police in technical Support Staff role. Retired 2011.

I have only recently joined the ROA and noticed  Larry Bennett’s request for input  to his book on GKA. I did try the Portishead Radio website but the firewall on my PC didn’t like it but I gather it is still under construction. I only served as a R/O for 4 years with B.P. Tanker …
