Would you be kind enough to circulate this to your membership please on behalf of the SS Explorer Preservation Society?
SS. Explorer, SSExplorer.org a large, 1000t, 1955 steam powered sidewinder trawler on the Historic Ships Register is being slowly reinstated as a heritage visitor attraction in the port of Leith, Edinburgh. It is open for visiting by arrangement. It is missing most of its original Marconi Marine radio station. Also it’s KH Echosounder recorders. Anything 50s/60s Marconi Marine that you know of that might require a home in such a project could be of considerable interest. I understand that Fort Perch Museum is closed and Sandford Mill Museum in Chelmsford can kindly offer technical assistance but cannot transfer or loan out their MIMco equipment.
