Barking College of Technology

It used to be called South East Essex Technical College before it became Barking Regional College of Technology.

After I came ashore and had started work in Television I went there in 1968 to do Colour Television Principles Course, they only had NTSC (American) equipment as PAL was very new then.             I obtained a City and Guilds certificate for my efforts.

  1. I did my 1st and 2nd class ticket there when they were located in Longbridge Road. A couple of years later I went back to do the DTI radar ticket and by then they had relocated to Rush Green College of Tech in Romford. Barking C of T was later absorbed into North London Polytechnic University, which I believe may now be part of the East London University.
